About
Sarah Letalik was born in 1995 in Lauf an der Pegnitz, Germany. After her graduation, she did a one year study program at the former Ulm School of Design where she focused on photography, painting and literature. Then she got her bachelors degree in media and communication science at Leipzig University (2014–2018). Since 2018 Sarah studies in the class for Photography in the Field of Contemporary Art (currently led by Anna Ehrenstein) at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. In 2021 she joined the Class for Performative Arts guided by Isabel Lewis for a guest semester. In her artistic approach Sarah combines elements of photo-/ videography, working with textile/ make-up and performative aspects. She often feels drawn to collaborative approaches such as group performances. Sarah has been working with her own photographic archive for years– exploring it in a multi-dimensional way, weaving different media into a more complex corpus of images and thoughts.
